Heavy Rains Cause Road Flooding In SW Minnesota

REDWOOD FALLS, Minn. (AP) -- Heavy rains are causing some road flooding in southwestern Minnesota.

The Redwood County Highway Department is closing a road west of Walnut Grove. Several low-lying roads have water over them, and county officials are urging people to use caution.

KLGR-AM reports the Tracy airport has received 4.3 inches of rain. South of Sanborn there is a report of 5.2 inches of rain, while 5 inches of rain is reported five miles north of Jeffers.

The National Weather Service says the Cottonwood River near Lamberton has risen over a foot since Tuesday morning.
