Recovery Efforts Under Way In Boundary Waters

GRAND MARAIS, Minn. (AP) -- Law enforcement officers and others returned to the Boundary Waters Canoe Wilderness Area in their search for a missing Wisconsin man.

Cook County Sheriff Mark Falk said sonar has detected a body in the water near where the 23-year-old man went missing. St. Louis County is providing a remote-controlled underwater device to retrieve the body.

Ty Sitter of Janesville, Wis., has been missing since last Thursday when he left his father and brother at their campsite on Swan Lake to go fishing near Grand Marais. When he didn't return, they found his canoe upright and unoccupied, with about 4 inches of water in it. His life jacket, tackle box and fishing net were there, but his fishing pole was missing.
