Minn. Man, 73, Charged In Brother's Shooting Death

WALKER, Minn. (AP) -- A 73-year-old Backus man is accused of fatally shooting his brother during an argument.

Rolland Kruckow is charged with second-degree intentional murder and was in jail Thursday.

According to the complaint, Kruckow contacted Cass County dispatch Tuesday and said he had shot his 63-year-old brother, Christian Kruckow, after the two got into a fight.

An investigator arrived and found Christian Kruckow's body. A revolver was on a counter with five spent shell casings nearby.

Rolland Kruckow told the investigator he always carries a .38-caliber revolver in his pants pocket and that he had pulled out the gun and shot his brother after his brother started pushing him.

Family members say Christian Krukow had gone to his brother's house to borrow some tools. They knew of no animosity between the two.
