3 Killed In Sauk River Crash Identified

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) -- Authorities have released the identities of the three people killed when a car plunged into Sauk River early Monday morning.

The car was carrying five people when it plunged into the Sauk River, landing upside down just off County Road 75.

The car's driver, 19-year-old Lam Vu Le, of St. Cloud, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two children in the car were taken to the hospital, where they were also pronounced dead. They were 13-year-old Carrie Ann Richter-Ngo and 5-year-old Ethan Thang Ngo. They were siblings from St. Cloud.

According to the St. Cloud Police Department, the car was found under a bridge on the 7000 block of County Road 75 when a Stearns County deputy noticed a road sign down near the bridge.

There were two other people in the car who survived the crash -- Lau Truong and an unidentified 33-year-old man.

They were all at a family party and Le was giving them a ride home.

Authorities suspect alcohol may have been involved in the crash.
