Dayton Lowers Flags For Minnesota Marine

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- U.S. and Minnesota flags will be flying at half-staff this weekend on Gov. Mark Dayton's orders to honor a Minnesota Marine who was killed in Afghanistan.

Dayton ordered that the flags be lowered for 27-year-old Chad Frokjer, who was killed June 30 in Helmand province after he stepped on an improvised explosive device while on patrol.

Frokjer was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division.

Dayton has ordered the flags be lowered from sunrise to sunset on Saturday. Frokjer will be interned at Saint Mary's Cemetery in North St. Paul on that day.
