'U' Employee Assaulted

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police are investigating after a University of Minnesota employee was assaulted in what appeared to be a robbery attempt.

The attack happened last Thursday afternoon near the Regis Center for Art-West and the People's Center Health Services.

The employee said he was approached by someone who yelled and punched him. The employee knocked the other person down and ran into nearby Hanson Hall to contact police.

The employee said the suspect was a white male in his mid to late 20s standing about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing around 200 pounds. He had a crew cut and a tattoo on the inside of his left arm.

Anyone with any information about the assault is asked to call the University of Minnesota Police Department at 612-624-2677.
