The Good Life For Less: 5 Tips To Save On Travel (Tip 4)

If summer travel budgeting drives you crazy then a gas finding app or website may help! We continue our trip down money-saving lane with Mary Song, founder of discount travel site Yuupon.com.

Tip 4: Find Cheap Gas

Song says, "GasBuddy.com tells you where to find the cheapest gas near you, and even has a mobile app you can download and use while you're on your way."

If you are hanging out around the metro area, TwinCitiesGasPrices.com can help you track down the lowest prices. Another good source is FuelMeUp.com which takes info from users and Oil Price Information Service to update the prices.

They're just small tools that can add up big bucks if you're driving for longer stretches.

I think it also can't hurt to sign up for the reward cards offered by some of the bigger gas station chains. They often offer fuel discounts and coupons for snacks in the store -- which always come in handy when you're on the road.

Monday (Tip 1)Late Hotel Check-In

If you know of any off-the-beaten-path travel deals, share them with other 'Good Lifers' in the comment section and they may be featured in an upcoming blog. You can also read more money-saving blog posts here and text WCCODEALS to 84816 for a 'deals of the week' reminder.
