3rd Annual Breaker Battle Set In Downtown Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The third annual Groundbreaker Battle will rattle downtown Minneapolis on Saturday.

The Cowles Center for Dance and the Performing Arts stages the breaker battle to give local break dancing crews a chance to share their talents with the community.

Crews will compete for cash prizes and a chance to perform onstage in the Goodale Theater as part of The Cowles Center's grand opening weekend Sept. 9-11.

The center's previous Groundbreaker Battles brought in more than 2,000 attendees and crews from across Minnesota and the Midwest and as far away as Norway.

Saturday's event runs from noon to 8 p.m. in the Butler Square parking lot at the corner for Hennepin Avenue and Fifth Street.
