Another Round Of Storm Damage

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Thousands of Xcel Energy customers were still without power Tuesday morning following heavy thunderstorms that pounded parts of the Twin Cities Monday.

Most of the outages were in the west metro area, which was hit hardest by the storms. Trees were down in Plymouth, Mound and Minnetrista among other areas.

In greater Minnesota, Glenwood has some of the heaviest damage with lots of trees and power lines down.

"We have eleven acres and there's probably twenty trees down," said Lynne Macho, who lives about four miles outside Glenwood.

She says her home was without power for about 12 hours Monday.

Driving into town has also became a challenge.

"We noticed a lot of water in ditches and a lot of people's yard that were flooded. Many trees down and across power lines," Macho said.

When it rained, it really rained.

"We couldn't see more than 30 yards out our window," said Macho.
