MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two people were injured Friday night after a car hit a commercial vehicle near Bunde in Chippewa County, authorities said.

The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the accident at about 7:24 p.m. Friday about one mile south of Bunde on County Road 1. Bunde is just east of Clara City.

Authorities said a 32-year-old man was driving a commercial vehicle headed northbound on County Road 1. A passenger car carrying two people failed to yield at a yield sign and was hit. A 29-year-old woman and 58-year-old man had to be taken out of their vehicle by emergency personnel.

They were taken to a local hospital and then airlifted to St. Cloud hospital. Their conditions are not known at this time. The driver of the commercial vehicle was not injured.

The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.
