Theme Park Cinderella Says 'Yes' To Minn. Native
QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (AP) -- Cinderella has agreed to marry her prince, after he got down on one knee and asked her to live happily ever after with him.
Sarah Cordts of Saratoga Springs has played Cinderella at the Great Escape theme park 50 miles north of Albany for eight years. On Friday, her boyfriend, Navy Lt. Russell Lidberg, visited her at the park in his dress whites, got down on one knee, and proposed as a crowd of children looked on.
The Glens Falls Post-Star reports that Lidberg, a 29-year-old Minnesota native, has served in Afghanistan and now works at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Unit in Saratoga County. Cordts is a graduate student at the University at Albany.
After the proposal, the couple danced, and the park announced that Cinderella was engaged.
