Police: Elderly Chaska Man Extorted For $8,400

CHASKA, Minn. (WCCO) -- Police in Chaska are investigating after an elderly man was apparently swindled out of $8,400 Monday.

According to the police department, two men arrived at the victim's residence sometime around noon and offered to paint a large shed on the property.

They agreed on a price of $840 for the job, but once the men had completed the task, they told the man he owed them $8,400.

They drove the man to the bank and waited outside while he withdrew the amount and gave it to them, police said.

Police said the two suspects were both white males standing roughly 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weight about 150 pounds each.

They were seen driving a white Chevrolet pick-up truck with a possible dent on the passenger side.

Anyone with information is asked to call 952-448-4200.
