Charity Run To Rebuild Faith's Lodge After July Storm

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- A place for grieving families needs help on its road to recovery by putting one foot in front of the other.

In July, the dense forest surrounding Faith's Lodge was destroyed by storms. The 80-acre retreat in Wisconsin provides an escape for families facing the serious illness or death of a child.

The facility had to shut down to clear the debris. On Saturday, there's a charity race in St. Paul to raise money to help restore the retreat.

"Anytime Fitness is doing a wonderful event for us this weekend. It feels so good to me," said Faith's Lodge volunteer Joan Ganley. "Faith's Lodge means so much to me and to my husband after we lost our daughters. And to see the community rally around this is wonderful."

The race will begin at Upper Landing Park in St. Paul at 10 a.m. All of the proceeds from the 5K and 10K run will go to Faith's Lodge.
