State Fair Attendance Down Slightly
FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. (WCCO) -- For the second straight year, foot traffic at the Minnesota State Fair took a slide, but not as significantly as the dip between 2009 and 2010.
The final tally of 2011 attendance at the State Fair claims 1,769,872 passed through the gates. That marks a roughly 6,339-person dip from the 2010 total of 1,776,211.
The 2010 dip from the previous year was 14,286, but 2009's tally of 1,790,497 set a new record for attendance at the State Fair.
There was one new single-day record set in 2011. The 229,943 people who visited on Sunday, Sept. 4 marks the most that have ever attended the fair on its 11th day.
But the overall single-day record currently belongs to the 10th day, which saw 234,384 people in 2010.
