Bachmann: Even If Obama Gets Jobs Plan, It'll Fail

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Republican presidential contender Michele Bachmann is criticizing President Barack Obama's plan to create jobs. She says Obama's approach amounts to more "failed gimmicks."

The Minnesota congresswoman says the plan Obama outlined Thursday night to Congress would further hurt the struggling U.S. economy. A tea party favorite, Bachmann says that even if Congress passes Obama's jobs plan, it will fail.

She says Obama is "politically paralyzed" and "philosophically incapable of doing what needs to be done."

Obama proposed a $447 billion jobs package that includes a payroll tax cut for all workers, a payroll tax cuts for most business, and spending for construction projects.

Bachmann did not attend the president's speech and says she listened on the radio because her flight to Washington was delayed.
