Man Killed In Mpls. Parking Ramp Stabbing

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police are investigating a fatal stabbing that happened at a Minneapolis parking ramp.

Just after 3 a.m. Monday, officers were called to a fight on the second level of Ramp C located in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue North.

While police were on their way there, ramp security reported a man down in the skyway connected to the ramp.

Officers arrived and found two men with stab wounds. One was pronounced dead at the scene; another had non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center.

Witnesses pointed out the man who allegedly did the stabbing and he was arrested.

"It initially came out as a fight and as our officers were arriving they received updated information that a male was down. So I assume some sort of incident did occur prior to this individual dying here," said Minneapolis Police Sgt. Stephen McCarty.

The identities of those involved have not been released.

Police are investigating what led to the stabbing. They ask anyone with information to call the TIPS Line at 612-692-8477.
