Woman Charged For Bringing Switchblade Into Court
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 48-year-old woman has been charged after police say she brought a switchblade into the Dakota County Courthouse.
Lisa Kaye Jefferson, of Richfield, has been charged with possession of a dangerous weapon in a courthouse, which is a felony.
According to the criminal complaint, Jefferson entered the courthouse on July 20 and proceeded to go through security. After her purse was sent through the X-ray machine, officers saw a dense metal object and conducted a search.
Jefferson continued to ask what they were looking for and repeatedly said she did not have any weapons.
After two more times through the X-ray machine, a deputy found a switchblade in the lining of the bottom portion of Jefferson's makeup bag. The weapon was confiscated and Jefferson was placed under arrest.
