Cantaloupe Recall After 4 Die From Listeria

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Four people have died after eating contaminated cantaloupe.

The fruit, thought to be contaminated with listeria, caused an outbreak that's hitting several states, including Minnesota, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

The FDA and Centers for Disease Control are working together to figure out where the contaminated fruit came from.

Jensen Farms in Holly, Colo. is voluntarily recalling cantaloupes sold in a dozen states, including Minnesota.

They were sold between July 29 and September 10.

So far, more than two dozen people have gotten sick, including the four who died.

Health officials said if you're unsure if your cantaloupe is involved, it's best to err on the side of caution and not eat it.
