MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. (AP) — Kohl’s Corp. will hire 40,000 seasonal workers for the holidays, up 5 percent from last year.

That includes about 35 extra workers per store at its 1,127 stores.

The workers will work up to 20 hours per week.

Store jobs include unloading trucks, freight processing, stocking and manning the cash register. Hiring began this month, and most jobs should be filled by mid-November.

In addition, Kohl’s plans to hire 2,500 seasonal workers at distribution centers and 500 seasonal and full-time credit operations workers.

Most department stores and specialty stores like Toys R Us hire temporary seasonal workers ahead of the holidays.

Democrats want to hire more workers. Thank you, Herb…

A friend’s daughter (who is in college) worked at Kohls. Because she was in school, they would only schedule her for one shift a week. She knew of others who had the same problem with Kohl’s (different stores so different managers).

My daughter worked at Kohl’s for a month or so in the early 1990s. She had the same problem with not being scheduled for enough hours. Again, she was in school and that was used as the excuse.

The artilce said up to 20 hours. Good luck, four may be more likely.
