Kohl's Does Major Hiring For The Holidays

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. (AP) -- Kohl's Corp. will hire 40,000 seasonal workers for the holidays, up 5 percent from last year.

That includes about 35 extra workers per store at its 1,127 stores.

The workers will work up to 20 hours per week.

Store jobs include unloading trucks, freight processing, stocking and manning the cash register. Hiring began this month, and most jobs should be filled by mid-November.

In addition, Kohl's plans to hire 2,500 seasonal workers at distribution centers and 500 seasonal and full-time credit operations workers.

Most department stores and specialty stores like Toys R Us hire temporary seasonal workers ahead of the holidays.
