Mpls. Police Look For Serial Pharmacy Robber

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Crime Stoppers of Minnesota is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading a man who robbed three pharmacies over the past six weeks to get the prescription painkiller Oxycodone.

Minneapolis Police said they believe one man is responsible for the robberies at CVS and Walgreens stores.

Police said the first happened on Sept. 3 just after 2:30 p.m. at a CVS Pharmacy in the 2000 block of Nicollet Ave. South. A man entered the store and gave them a note indicating that he was robbing the business, then left with the drug.

The second robbery happened on Sept. 11 just before 2:30 p.m. at a Walgreens Pharmacy in the 200 block of West Lake St. A man again presented a note indicating a robbery, then assaulted a clerk and fled with Oxycodone.

The last robbery happened at a Walgreens in the 4500 block of Hiawatha Ave. South on Oct. 2 at 3:30 p.m. The man gave a note then left with drugs.

No weapon was seen in any of the cases.

Investigators said they hope photos from surveillance video will help track down the man. He is described as a black man in his 20s, about 5'08" to 6' tall with a thin to medium build. He had a thin mustache and hair on his chin area.
