Twin Cities Oprah Winners Pick Up New 'Favorite Things'

MAPLEWOOD, Minn. (WCCO) -- Before Oprah ended her 25-year talk show run she had one last "Favorite Things" show.

The biggest and best favorite thing was the new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle, which wasn't even on the dealer's lot yet when the show aired last November.

On Thursday, almost a year after the show, four Twin Cities viewers who were in the audience that day picked up their new "bugs" in Maplewood.

Abby Pike and her grandmother were among the Oprah viewers who were picked to be a part of the final favorite things show.

"It's pretty exciting. We get asked a lot obviously about when the car is going to be coming so all the friends and family who knew when we went to the show were excited for us of course," said Pike. "And now it's just been anticipation and waiting, and every time you run into some at the grocery story it's, 'Did you get your car yet?'"

She said this is her first new car. The viewers all got to pick their own colors -- Pike's grandma chose red.
