Some Ski Resorts Already Opening For Winter

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It's not officially winter until the middle of December, but don't tell that to some owners of ski resorts in Minnesota.

Some resorts are opening for the winter season ahead this weekend. Trollhaugen Ski and Snowboard Resort in Dresser, Wis., announced Saturday that it is open for business this weekend with two runs available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wild Mountain, which is just north of Taylors Falls, also announced it is open Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The extended winter forecast calls for snowfall totals similar to what we got last year, which is music to the ears of ski resort owners who were busy virtually every weekend. Several winter snow storms made for a longer ski season than most resorts usually get.
