Ready For Winter Weather To Arrive?

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Are you ready to say "snow long" to autumn? You may not have much time to bid it farewell if you haven't already.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for southeastern Minnesota and much of western Wisconsin, including Owatonna, Rochester, Red Wing, Rice Lake and Eau Claire for Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning.

It appears Minnesota managed to luck out on a preliminary round of snowflakes that were expected to fall Tuesday morning, thanks to dry air.

But round two is still likely to bring some heavy, wet snow to the southeastern portion of the state Tuesday evening into Wednesday.

There is a chance for snow showers to reach the Twin Cities going into Wednesday morning, but little accumulation is expected. While this isn't expected to be a bad storm, some slushy accumulation is possible in the southeastern suburbs.

Temperatures moving in behind this system should be somewhat cooler.
