Charges: Man Taught Juvenile How To Grow, Sell Pot

FARMINGTON (WCCO) -- A 34-year-old Farmington man has been accused of teaching a juvenile how to grow and sell marijuana, which he produced inside his home.

Craig Martin Gisch was charged with one felony count of second-degree controlled substance crime, one gross misdemeanor count of child endangerment and another gross misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

According to the criminal complaint, on May 6, 2011, police were dispatched to Glisch's house on the report of an unresponsive woman, who was pronounced dead on the scene. While searching the residence for children, a marijuana growing operation was discovered.

After obtaining two separate search warrants, police ultimately ended up finding over 2 pounds of marijuana, the complaint said.

Police say Gisch employed a juvenile and instructed him or her in the growing and selling of marijuana, telling the minor it was necessary for him or her to learn and participate in the cultivation of the plants and to understand how the business worked. The juvenile was instructed in the trimming, watering and repotting of the plants, the complaint said.

If convicted of all charges, Gisch could be sentenced to more than 25 years in prison.
