Suspect At Large After Bank Robbery In Albertville

ALBERTVILLE, Minn. (WCCO) – A suspect is on the loose after an apparent bank robbery in Albertville Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

The incident also forced students in the St. Michael-Albertville School District to be put on lockdown for a brief time while police searched for the suspect. Schools were back open at about 2 p.m. so that students could go home for the day.

The Wright County Sheriff's Office received a report of a bank robbery at about 12:47 p.m. at the Premier Bank in Albertville. Authorities said a lone white man approached a bank teller with a gun and demanded an undisclosed amount of money. The man then fled the bank, and a search for the suspect started. Authorities said the man was about 5 feet, 7 inches to 6 feet tall and was wearing a ski mask during the robbery.

A witness in the area said the State Patrol had its helicopter up searching for the suspect.

The incident remains under investigation at this time and anyone with information is asked to call the Wright County Sheriff's Office.
