Man Critical After Rollover Crash In Southern MN

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A man from Truman is in critical condition at a hospital after a rollover crash near Lewisville on Thursday, according to the Watonwan County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities said the crash happened at about 10:16 p.m. Thursday on County Road 10 about a mile west of the city of Lewisville. The city is south and west of Mankato.

The sheriff's office said a 26-year-old Truman man was critically injured when he was traveling down the road at a high rate of speed, lost control of his vehicle and it rolled several times. The victim was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and he was ejected from the vehicle.

The man was taken to Madelia Community Hospital for immediate treatment and was eventually airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, where he remains in critical condition. His exact injuries are not known at this time. The victim's vehicle, a 2003 Chevy Silverado pick-up, was totaled in the crash.

The Watonwan County Sheriff's Office said it believes alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
