Police Looking For Driver After Man Hit, Injured In Mpls

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minneapolis Police are searching for a driver they suspect was involved in an accident with a bicycle Saturday morning.

The incident happened just before 11 a.m. at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and West River Parkway, according to police.

Authorities said a truck was driving northbound when it struck a 61-year-old man on a bicycle who was attempting to cross the street on West River Parkway. The truck is described as a smaller brown pick-up truck with home camouflage on it. It also has a red star on the back with "M16" or "M18" on the tailgate. The vehicle should also have front-end damage.

The victim, whose name has not yet been released, died at Hennepin County Medical Center at approximately 2:30 p.m.

No arrests have been made and the incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Minneapolis Police.
