Vikings' Hutchinson Hosts Annual Thanksgiving Meal

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Minnesota Vikings left guard Steve Hutchinson has hosted an early Thanksgiving meal for patients and families at the University of Minnesota children's hospital for the sixth straight year.

Hutchinson and his wife, Landyn, connected with the Amplatz Children's Hospital when he signed with the Vikings in 2006. About 10 of Hutchinson's teammates joined him Tuesday at the event, visiting children in their rooms and signing autographs for the attendees.

Hutchinson says his community work helps put a tough season for the Vikings in perspective.

Linebacker E.J. Henderson held his fourth annual turkey giveaway to families in north Minneapolis earlier in the day. Backup quarterback Donovan McNabb and defensive tackle Kevin Williams also hosted charity events this week.
