1 Year Ago: The Day The Metrodome Roof Collapsed

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It was a year ago when the unthinkable happened -- the weight of several inches of snow toppled the roof of the Metrodome.

Because of the collapse, the home game of the Minnesota Vikings versus the New York Giants was played Monday night at Ford Field in Detroit.

On Sunday and Monday, the first 250 people who come to rollerskate at the Dome will receive a piece of the old roof.

Rollerdome goes from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday.

Take a look back on the story as it was unfolding last year.
