  1. Come on folks ... please! says:

    Tragic tragic tragic accident.
PPL – if you are merging for Gawd Sake use your brains, don’t cut in front of people ever.
No stinking need to rush – 20 seconds is not worth what you can cause.
I know – it’s MN and we have the I or ME driver mentality but it should not be that way.
    Condolences to the family …

    1. Mayhem says:

The “I or Me” mentallity is everywhere…not just MN. Always has been always will be. Same as the thought “will never happen to me…”

You folks just need to learn how to drive while taking others into consideration. But that’ll never happen either.

  2. Buzz says:

What about the merging driver who caused the whole thing? Do they know who it was? Were they caught?

  3. Michael Clark says:

Buzz. I doubt it andthey will probably not get caught, either. Unfortunately, this is an all too common problem with merging and I wonder what it will take before people start watching what they are doing when they are merging into traffic..

  4. Seriously concerned says:

I totally agree with Buzz. What happened with that individual. I am truly hoping someone/bystander that stopped, was able to get the information on the other vehicle, at least a license plate number. This way the officers will be able to find them, and issue some sort of citation at the least. Hopefully more. Reckless endangerment, manslaughter………

  5. Family says:

Hello everyone. I am the family of the woman who passed at the scene. I just wanted to inform everyone here that no they have not and most likely won’t catch the idiotic driver that has caused all this pain. My cousin who was in the back of the vehicle was taken to a near by hospital and remains in critical condition. Please send your prayers and wishes to him, he is only 13. Thank you to everyone who is concerned.

    1. MN_Mom says:

      To Family,

My thoughts and prayers are with you, your cousin, the rest of your family and the individual in the other vehicle. I too, lost someone in a car accident due to the carelessness of someone else. My mom, she was 49 and I was 22 with small children. She was our life, our light, our support, our everything. This was 15 years ago and the pain is still great and always will be. In my case, the other driver was caught, and subsequently only charged a $114 fine for “failing to yield to right of way”. Dumb. In reality, he blew a stop sign and rolled an entire garbage truck onto her car! Hardly a fair sentence, if you ask me.

My sincere sympathy… may you someday find joy and peace in the memories of your loved one.
