Mpls. Police Report Increase In Car Break-Ins

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police are warning residents about an up-tick in car break-ins in a Minneapolis neighborhood.

Minneapolis Police said there has been an increase in theft from auto in the last month, especially in the East Phillips neighborhood.

Police said that in the last month, there have been 257 car break-ins reported, 93 in the city's Third Precinct and 36 in Phillips neighborhood.

Minneapolis Police are encouraging residents to be careful about what they leave in sight in their cars. They said remove anything that might be a temptation to a would-be thief.
