Sex Offender Gets 30 Years In Prison

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 38-year-old Prior Lake man who is a Level III sex offender was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Tuesday in connection with criminal sexual conduct involving a 12-year-old girl going back to 2008.

Travis Allan Olsen was found guilty of first-degree criminal sexual conduct by a Carver County jury in connection with the Case. In addition to 30 years in prison, Olsen will be subject to a conditional release for the rest of his life.

According to court documents, Olsen lived with his girlfriend and her 12-year-old daughter between January and April of 2008 at a residence in Chaska. While his girlfriend worked nights shifts, Olsen would ask the girl to come into his bedroom. When she did, he would engage in sex with the girl.

After Olsen moved out of the residence, the girl would meet him at a gas station. He would drive them to various parks and hiking trails, where the two would have sex.

Olsen has also previously been convicted of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and third-degree criminal sexual conduct in 1998.
