Weather Blog: Monday's Record Heat

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It looks more and more like this will be one of our warmest Decembers on record.

Monday's high was 52 degrees (one degree warmer than the previous record high of 51 degrees set back in 1936). It will be nearly 20 degrees cooler Tuesday afternoon, yet it will still be above the average high of 24. The wind will die down and the clouds will clear as the day progresses.

Now, we do have a few chances of snow over the next few days. Northern Minnesota could see some light snow Wednesday night with more widespread snow Thursday into Friday.

Our temps will stay above average all week. In fact they will surge above average on Saturday. The weather should cooperate with your New Year's Eve plans.
