Maplewood Police Investigate Hit-And-Run, Shooting

MAPLEWOOD, Minn. (WCCO) -- Maplewood Police are looking for three men accused of ramming into a car and shooting at it on Tuesday night.

It happened around 10 p.m. near County Road B and Highway 61. Police said a 29-year-old woman was driving southbound on Highway 61 with her adult brother and two young daughters. She told police she was being followed by a vehicle with three men inside. At one point, the front seat passenger was yelling at the woman to pull over and stop.

The woman refused to stop and continued to drive when the suspect vehicle rammed into the driver's side of the victim's car.

Police said the woman refused to stop and that's when one shot was fired from the suspect vehicle into the victim's vehicle. The suspect vehicle then took off, heading southbound on Highway 61.

Police recovered one bullet that was embedded in the driver's side door.

The suspect vehicle is described as a red, four-door, Chevy-type sedan. Police said the vehicle should have damage to the front, right side. The suspects inside the vehicle were described as three black men.

The Maplewood Police Department along with the Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities through the Ramsey County Emergency Communications Center at 651-767-0640.
