Authorities ID Woman Hit, Killed By Car In Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities have identified a woman who was struck by a vehicle and killed while crossing the street in Minneapolis Friday night.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's office identified the victim as 69-year-old Louise M. Laugen of Minneapolis. The incident happened at about 6:23 p.m. Friday at the intersection of 27th Street and Park Avenue South.

Authorities said the driver was traveling north on Park Avenue when they hit the victim while she was crossing the street. The medical examiner ruled Laugen died of multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the accident.

Police said alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.
