Gophers Hockey Team To Raise Money For Jablonski

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The University of Minnesota men's hockey team plans to raise money for a Twin Cities high school player paralyzed in a game.

The Gophers will raise money for the Jack Jablonski Fund in two ways at Saturday night's U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game against Notre Dame at Mariucci Arena.

Gopher athletes and Minnesotarepresentatives will be at the main entrances collecting cash donations as fans enter the building. In addition, all proceeds from the postgame "chuck-a-puck" will be donated to the Jack Jablonski Fund.

Jablonski, a 16-year-old sophomore at Benilde-St. Margaret's, was severely injured last week when he was checked from behind in a hockey game. His parents and doctors say it's unlikely he'll ever walk again.
