DULUTH, Minn. (WCCO) — Minnesota’s recent lack of snow is jeopardizing a popular event on the North Shore.

The John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon is scheduled to start Jan. 29, but the lack of snow near Duluth could force organizers to postpone or cancel the event entirely.

The last time the event had to be cancelled was in 2007.

The Duluth News Tribune reports the race board will meet this weekend to make a decision.
