Weather Blog: Looks Like Winter

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- We finally have some snow coming our way. It isn't a large storm, but we will take what we can get this winter.

The timing of this system is terrible. It should start snowing overnight and continue right through rush hour.

The greatest accumulation will be across extreme southern Minnesota where 3-6" of snow could fall.

We could see 1-2 inches here in the metro, so expect a longer commute Friday morning. It should clear by your drive home, but some side roads could remain a bit slick.

There will not be a rapid melt of our new snow since the cold air will stick around for a few more days. We may warm to near 10 degrees for a high Friday and hop to the teens by Saturday.

Look for more snow on Sunday with the greatest accumulation over northern Minnesota this time.
