Police Search For Missing 10-Year-Old Girl

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minneapolis Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a 10-year-old girl who was last seen Sunday morning.

Police say the girl was last seen near Lake Street and Pillsbury Avenue South around 10 a.m. Sunday.

Officers say the girl, Namo Abdinur Ahmed, was getting out of a car in the parking lot with her mother and siblings and was walking ahead of them to a nearby location for religious classes.

Police were called after it was reported that the girl never made it to class.

Police have been going door-to-door to spread the word of the missing girl and are using a canine to try and track where she might have gone.

So far, none of these efforts have turned up any leads.

Namo, who also goes by Naimo or Nimo, is about 4-foot-8 to 4-foot-10 with a lighter build, medium brown complexion and was last seen wearing a full length black dress, pink shoes, a dark-colored head covering and carrying a purple or pink backpack.

Anyone with information about Namo's whereabouts should call 911 in the city of Minneapolis, or 612-673-2345 from outside the city.
