Feb. Fundraiser Set For Family Of Slain Lake City Officer

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A fundraiser has been set up to help the family of the Lake City police officer who died after suffering a gunshot wound to the head in December.

The event -- Support Officer Schneider's Family! -- is set for Feb. 25 at the Railhouse Grill in Lake City. It is scheduled run from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. the following morning.

It will feature family events, both a silent and a live auction, an ice bar and live music. More information can be found on the Dedicated to Shawn Facebook page.

Shawn Schneider suffered a gunshot wound on Dec. 19 while responding to a domestic disturbance call. He died at the Mayo Clinic on Dec. 30. He is survived by is survived by his wife and three children.
