Oscar Night Celebration Planned In Downtown Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Twin Cities will celebrate the Academy Awards with a party of its own on Oscar Night.

The 2012 Official Twin Cities Oscar Party will be held Feb. 26 at The Cowles Center for Dance and the Performing Arts in downtown Minneapolis.

The Twin Cities will continue its 19-year tradition of hosting an Academy-sanctioned Oscar party. The Aegis Foundation is this year's host.

All proceeds will be divided between the Smile Network, which provides surgeries to poor children, and the Target Distance Learning Program of The Cowles Center, which provides virtual classes to students across Minnesota.

There will be a red carpet, a live broadcast of the Academy Awards ceremony, and a silent auction.

General admission is $65 per person. VIP admission is $165 per person.
