Minneapolis Police Investigate Possible Luring Incident

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minneapolis Police are looking for a suspect after an apparent luring incident on Monday.

Authorities said a 16-year-old girl was approached by an adult male on Monday as she was getting off a school bus at the intersection of East 25th Street and 11th Avenue South.

The suspect asked for her name and phone number, and when she refused, he offered to take her to a restaurant, police said.

As the girl walked away from the man, he got into his vehicle, started following her and tried to block her path with the car. The girl continued to walk away from the area, and was able to get home without harm, police said.

The suspect is described as a Somali male, 30 to 40 years old and about six feet tall with a light build. He was wearing a blue shirt and jeans at the time of the incident, and his hair was cut short. The suspect's vehicle is described as a gold colored, 4-door vehicle, possibly a 2004 model.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Minneapolis Police.
