Whole Foods Store Coming To Downtown Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials with the Whole Foods Market chain of natural and organic food stores announced Wednesday that it is planning to open a new location in downtown Minneapolis.

Officials also confirmed that an Edina location is set to open on April 18, 2012.

The downtown Minneapolis location is expected to be about 38,000 square feet and will be at the corner of Hennepin and Washington Avenues. Officials said it will be the ground level store of 222 Hennepin Avenue and will also have a separate liquor store that will sell specialty beers and wines.

Officials said about 150 jobs will be created to meet the stores retail needs. The store is slated to open sometime in 2013.
