BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (WCCO) — Seven people were arrested and five were treated for injuries after a fight broke out at a TGI Fridays in Bloomington, Minn.

Deputy Chief Rick Hart said they got a call around 1 a.m. about a fight at the TGI Fridays on 2201 Killebrew Drive.

The 911 call stated there were as many as 30 people fighting inside the restaurant. When officers arrived, they found a few people still fighting inside and outside the building.

Seven people were arrested for third-degree riot and five people were treated and released from a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No officers were injured in the incident.

Hart said they believe the fighting started when two groups of people, sitting next to each other, got into a verbal argument and it escalated from there.

Hart said people began throwing menus, glasses, plates and silverware at each other.

The restaurant estimates it has about $1,500 in damages.

I think it is impressive that a fight that big, and nobody stabbed or shot. Kuddos to these two groups of handling it the old fashion way.

Its funny but true. If more of these “beefs” were settled with fists instead of guns & knifes….we all might be better off.

This is why I don’t like to go out drinking much anymore. There’s always someone, or a group of guys who always want to fight when they drink. Some people just need to grow up, but they never will.

    1. markH says:

Like the people who “don’t like to go out drinking much anymore”? Since when is frying brain cells while consuming large amounts of booze a leisurely pastime? I think that form of “entertainment” wears a bit think once you get north of 23 years old.

You’re right,it was a group of minorities. If these youths were white, white, they’d wait until they got on the road before they started causing havoc.

      1. Cleetus from Savage says:

Sorry, that should be “You’re right,it was a group of minorities. If these youths were white, they’d wait until they got on the road before they started causing havoc.”

    3. Justin says:

I am sure you got the updated details. One group was pro LaCrosse players. Rochester Knighthawks. They lost to the Swarm that day. Lacrosse is typically a sport reserved for priveledge whites in thsi coutnry. So, don’t make assumptions. Maybe there were minorities involved, but the article does not state it, racist.
