Minneapolis' 1st Brewery Taproom Opens On Saturday

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The first brewery taproom in Minneapolis will open on Saturday, following last year's passage of the so-called "Surly Bill."

The bill cleared the way for breweries to sell beer for consumption on their premises. The Minneapolis City Council and Mayor R.T. Rybak passed a similar ordinance.

Fulton Beer, which was founded in 2009, will open a taproom just a few blocks west of Target Field on March 10 at noon.

Their charter selection will include "Sweet Child of Vine," "Lonely Blonde" and "Worthy Adversary."

There will also be food available nearby from the Barrio food truck.

Though the taproom will only be open from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturdays during March, the hours are expected to expand once the Twins start playing nearby.

Fulton Beer will also offer tours of the brewery.
