High Fire Danger This Weekend In Southern Minn.

GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. (AP) -- The Department of Natural Resources is warning of high fire danger over the southern half of Minnesota this weekend.

Central and southern Minnesota have little or no snow cover. The forecast calls for strong southwest winds up to 25 mph, low humidity and highs in the 60s -- all combining to create severe fire weather conditions over southern Minnesota Saturday afternoon.

A high fire danger rating means fires start easily and spread quickly. People are urged to be careful with campfires to make sure they don't escape.
