Tips For Getting To Work On Your Lawn, Gardens

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Is this warm weather giving you the "itch" to get out and garden and work on your lawn? If so, you're not alone.

Robin Ostrander from Gerten's Greenhouse, says a lot of people want to know if it's OK to start planting but her advice?

"Don't get too antsy. You can probably put out some pansies," she said.

As far as raking your lawn, she said if your lawn is "squishy," then it's too soon.

"Be very careful about the condition of your lawn," Ostrander said.

If it is firm, then it's OK to rake.

"We need them to stay nice and aerated, and fluffy, so stay off your lawn if you can," she said.

While it might seem like spring, she says we still could have some cooler nights, so don't get too excited and plant too much too soon.
