Free LRT Rides Saturday Night For St. Paddy's Day

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It's St. Patrick's Day, and if it turns out that you're have a little too much fun out there, consider riding a Metro Transit light rail train.

To sweeten the pot (o' gold), the train rides are being offered free of charge.

Miller Lite is sponsoring the free rides, which begin after 6 p.m. The partnership will also provide free trips on buses and and the Northstar commuter rail line.

Many of the bars are offering shuttles, as well.

St. Paul Police have extra patrols, and they'll be there on horseback, motorcycles and added 24 extra officers as part of a Safe and Sober campaign to watch out for drunk drivers.
