UND Back At X; Gophers Try To Get Frozen 4 Instead

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- North Dakota has returned to the Xcel Energy Center ice for more tournament action. Minnesota will be there, too, trying to get that ticket to the Frozen Four instead.

The Fighting Sioux nickname is now banned, but UND is back for the NCAA West Regional. North Dakota won the Broadmoor Trophy here last weekend as the WCHA Final Five champion. This was also the site of last year's NCAA national semifinals, which UND appeared in.

North Dakota will take on Western Michigan on Saturday afternoon. In the other regional semifinal game, the Gophers play Boston University. The winners face off on Sunday afternoon.

Defending champion Minnesota Duluth plays this weekend, too. The Bulldogs were sent to the Northeast Regional in Worcester, Mass., and they play Maine on Saturday night.
